This ottoman, coffee table combo expands OneUp's ottoman offerings, serving as the next step in the product line by introducing a hardwood base to an existing design. The wood base elevates the piece's overall value and perceived quality without reinventing the ottoman itself, pairing the comfort of the existing upholstery with the durability and premium look of hardwood. It marks another hardwood first for OneUp, extending the material into a new product category for the brand.
Design strategy, cost analysis
The hardwood components are produced from our own scrap wood stream, letting the piece use genuine solid hardwood while keeping material costs down rather than sourcing new stock. The 5" foam version follows the same logic, we were able to get it from the offcuts of the full-size foam, so nothing goes to waste and the smaller profile stays cost-efficient to produce without sacrificing the same quality foam used across the line.
