Riposo Chaise Lounge

This lounge chair expands OneUp Innovations' outdoor line into a more luxury-oriented space while holding to an attainable price point, and it's the brand's first hardwood product to date. Significant design effort went into engineering it as a flat-pack piece, reconciling solid-hardwood construction and a sculpted, seamless look with the joinery and structural demands of disassembly and reassembly, which keeps shipping and assembly simple without compromising the premium feel.
Design strategy, cost analysis
The flat-pack format was the central design challenge: pairing premium hardwood with a knockdown structure to cut shipping costs on both the manufacturing and consumer sides, all while keeping the soft, ergonomic curves that define the chair's comfort. Those curves were especially hard to achieve within a flat-pack build, but the extra engineering effort paid off in a piece that ships and assembles efficiently without sacrificing the comfort or premium feel of the finished product.
